Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Jharkhand Sachivalaya exam, candidates must meet
specific criteria:
- Educational Qualification: a Bachelor’s degree
from a recognized university is required.
- Age Limit: The minimum age limit
21 years. Whereas, maximum age is for
35 years for male and 38 years for female. However, age relaxation is
provided for reserved categories as per government norms.
3. Exam Pattern and Syllabus
The
format of the examination will be as follows:-
Pattern
and syllabus of the examination: The examination will be conducted in two
phases for appointment to the post of Stenographer category under Jharkhand
Secretariat Stenographer Service Cadre.
a) First
Stage Preliminary Test
Second
stage written examination
It
will be necessary to pass only the skill test in the first stage i.e. this
examination will be of qualifying nature only.
In the
preliminary examination, facilities will be provided to the disabled people as
per the provisions of the Resolution No. 10992, dated 25.09.2012 of the
Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Official Language,
Jharkhand, Ranchi.
Only
the candidates who pass the preliminary test of the first phase will be
included in the written examination under the second phase.
a) First Stage preliminary Test:
There will be two papers for the skill test. The
examination of both the papers will be held on the same date.
First
Paper: Under this, a test of Hindi shorthand writing will be taken, the
criteria of which will be as follows:-
To
test Hindi stenography, 500 words will be given Hindi dictation for 10 minutes
at the speed of 50 words per minute.
The
dictation will be pronounced by a person expert in stenography. Before the
dictation, 01 (one) minute time will be given for practice/preparation (trail)
of the dictation. 40 (forty) minutes will be given to type the dictation on the
computer. Apart from this, candidates will be given 5 (five) minutes time to
read the dictation before starting typing on the computer. The typing of the
dictation will have to be corrected within the stipulated time for typing. To
pass the typing test of dictation, there should not be more than 5 (five)
percent mistakes otherwise they will be disqualified.
Second
Paper: Under this, computer aptitude and driving test will be taken. Under
this, there will be questions related to table wise data. The following tasks
will have to be done as per the instructions given in the question:-
a)
Typing
the above table wise data on MS-Word.
b)
Data
entry on MS-Excel and calculations related to average, addition, subtraction
etc.
c)
Preparing
Pie Chart and Bar Chart on the basis of data prepared on MS-Excel.
d)
Power
Point in MS-Power Point based on data prepared on MS-Excel. A slide will have
to be prepared for presentation.
e)
All
the documents prepared from paragraphs (a) to (d) above.A folder will have to
be prepared and sent to the given address (E-mail-ID).
The
total duration of this examination will be 1.5 (one and a half) hours (90
minutes) and the total marks will be 150 marks with 25-25 marks for each
section, in which it will be mandatory to get minimum 30 percent marks to pass.
b)
Second
stage written examination –
There
will be two papers for the written examination. All questions in the written
examination will be objective and have multiple choice answers. The full marks
of a question will be 3 (three). 3 (three) marks will be given for each correct
answer and 1 (one) mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. The language of
the examination will be Hindi/English. The syllabus of question papers of
written examination will be of matriculation level.
First Paper:
The duration of this examination will be of 03 (three) hours. In this
paper, questions related to four subjects will be asked, the details of which
are as follows:-
a)
Knowledge
of Hindi language. 25
questions (75 marks)
b)
Knowledge
of English language. 25 questions (75 marks)
c)
General
Studies. 25 questions (75 marks)
d)
Reasoning
and Mental Ability Test 25 questions (75
marks)
Total 100 questions (300 marks)
Syllabus:
It will be mandatory to obtain 30 percent marks in the first paper.
First paper syllabus
a) Knowledge
of Hindi language: Under this, questions related to Hindi paragraph and Hindi
grammar will be asked.
b) Knowledge
of English Language: Under this, questions related to English paragraph and
English grammar will be asked.
c) General
Studies: Under this, questions related to contemqqporary topics, India,
Jharkhand state and general science will be asked.
d) Reasoning
and Mental Ability Test: It includes verbal and non-verbal tests for
matriculation level reasoning and mental ability test which includes analogy,
similarity and difference, spatial imagination, spatial orientation, problem
solving, analysis, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship
retention, Questions related to numerical reasoning, verbal and pictorial
classification, numerical number series, non-literal series, coding and
decoding etc. will be asked.
Second Paper:-
Tribal and Regional Language In this paper, out of Hindi /
English / Sanskrit / Urdu / Santhali / Bengali / Mundari (Munda) / Ho / Khadiya
/ Kudukh (Uraon) / Kurmali / Khortha / Nagpuri / Panchparganiya / Oriya.
Candidates will be able to take the exam in any one language on the basis of
option. In this examination, 100 multiple choice questions (300 marks) will be
asked in the respective language. The duration of this examination will be of
02 (two) hours.
It will be mandatory to obtain 30 percent marks in the identified regional/tribal language.
